See, we're doing puns now. Cause this is a post about making crackers. We [mostly Damon] eat a lot of crackers. Usually as an after work snack. So I wanted to try my hand at making them myself. Would it be cheaper [this recipe certainly was not], would it be fast? [no not really], would it be easy [yes]. And as there is something very satisfying with making something instead of buying it, I gave it a go.
The recipe I used came out of Tish Boyle's Good Cookie, and I followed it closely. It's basically a refrigerator cookie- heavy on the butter, sour cream, parm & cheddar. So it's probably also much fattier than our regular Annie's Cheddar Bunnies.
And they turned out ok [one batch was a little more on the burnt side]. I've been eating them. Damon, I think hopes that we go back to the Cheddar Bunny buying. But my Joy of Cooking informed me that just about any bread recipe can be adapted for crackers, so I think I have to give that a try. But probably not the banana pineapple bread I just made.
